I just was at the local Fall show, Advance the Colors, 10-11 October, 2024. A number of people stopped by my vendor table and game demo area. They wanted to talk with me about my 3d models. I recognized that many people don’t know how this all works. So…here you have the two-step model process. I first use modeling software tool (in this case Tinkercad) to design a raised earth wooden border wall. This is from my reading of the “Limes” (pronounced “LEE-mess”) Roman border wall that ran about 500 Km along the Germanic Frontier. (see: https://mae.ufl.edu/~uhk/ROMAN-LIMES.pdf, WHAT WAS THE ROMAN LIMES? for more information.) The Romans first constructed the wall out of earth and wood, catching up later with stone. I designed a number of short and longer sections of this type of wall. The design is easy to print. It is also modular in design so a wargamer can use various sections to build the wall to taste. I have six inch sections that a person can line up with other six inch sections, or a gate section or any of a number of unique shapes. I like the variety, myself, and hope this is something others will appreciate.
